Hi Friends! Long time no talk. I haven’t written on this blog lately, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been writing! My first book was published recently by Kharis Publishing. It honestly is a little surreal still. The book is a Bible study on the Beatitudes. The lessons I learned while writing it are still blessing me, and I’ve been receiving a lot of positive feedback about the book blessing others. Here’s a refresher, if you aren’t familiar with what the Beatitudes are:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
The wisdom of Jesus is astounding to me! The eight Beatitudes are a list of characteristics we don’t normally associate with blessing, but through studying them, my perspective has changed. I am getting more and more opportunity to apply these lessons to my daily life, and I am drawn closer to God in remembering these verses. Just the other day I was given an opportunity to choose meekness over anger, and I’m glad I did! I’ve also been mourning some broken things in my life, and it’s given me renewed appreciation for how God healed the brokenness of the world through Jesus. I am thankful to have these principles to lean on. Even if you don’t want to read my book, I encourage you to spend some time meditating on Matthew 5:3-10!
If you do want to check out my book, here are some of the places it’s being sold:
I also have more information on my other website (yes, that’s another thing I’ve been working on!).
